In my dark past, I wrote two ‘shareware’ utilities that allow you to convert between MIDI and ProTracker (MOD) music formats. They are released with accompanying source code, since I’m lazy enough not to want to maintain my code forever.
- MidiMod (version 0.2) converts MOD files to MIDI ones. (documentation)

Mobile Phone Software
I started, and embarassingly haven’t maintained, an open source project for testing the Java (specifically Java Micro Edition – JME) capabilities of mobile phones. However, it is probably still useful, particularly if you encounter new mobiles regularly and have to develop Java software for them!
